BR 1-14 Robinson Crusoe

I was alive! I could not believe that I was safe, and I thanked God for saving me. (p.18)

Do you know Robinson Crusoe? This book was written by Daniel Defoe. It is famous. This story is about Robinson Crusoe’s adventure.
Robinson Crusoe was born into a merchant family in 1632. He is a third son. He has a habit of wandering. He ignores the opposite of his parents and goes out to travel. He would be a sailor, but his ship is shipwrecked by a big hurricane. He drifts to a desert island and survives when he was 27 years old in 1659.

I was surprised that it is Robinson's vital energy. He did hunt and brought up cereal. He often read the Holy Bible and also talked with God. He adapted himself to a desert island and lived. He returns to a homeland and gets married, but he begins to live on wife's after death at an island again. He comes to like nature.

BR 1-13 Selected Short Stories by D.H. Lawrence

The voice did not sound human.(p.41)

This book has many short stories. So I read the story named THE LOVELY LADY.
Pauline Attenborough is 72 years old, but she looked much younger. When a soft light shone on her, she could look as young as 30. She had a lovely figure and face. She had left husband named Ronald many years ago. They had had two sons. The Eldest son named Henry had died. The second son named Robert is 32 years old. When Henry was died, Robert was only 10. Robert lives with his mother and works as a lawyer in London. A big young woman lives with them. Her name is Ciss. She is a niece of Pauline. Her father is Ronald Attenborough’s younger brother. He had died five years ago. So she depended on her aunt Pauline. She was in love with Robert, but she had never told him. Ciss is very shy and Robert also too. One day Ciss heard the voice when she was basking in the sun shine. It is her dead cousin, Henry’s voice!

It is the mystery story. What is the reason that she is youthful? What happens to Ciss's love with Robert? Is the voice Henry's? I read it with a pounding heart.
